Singer and producer Akon has lavished praise on Leona, dubbing her a “real singer”. Having worked with Leona on ‘Forgive Me’, a new song for the US release of her debut album Spirit, Akon predicted that Lewis won’t have “any problems” cracking the lucrative American market. “I would definitely say she is one of the few artists in a long time I have worked with who has that kind of range,” he said. “She’s being presented to the United States [at the moment], so that’s a lot of pressure, but I don’t think she’s going to have any problems. She’s really a real singer!”
