Created by Livity, the Superdrug-supported campaign aims to help young people avoid sunburn, one of the primary causes of skin cancer in the UK. Photographer Mary McCartney donated her time to photograph Leona in a series of shots highlighting Teenage Cancer Trust’s key sun protection messages. Leona Lewis commented: “Teenage Cancer Trust is a charity that I hold very close to my heart and this campaign is so important because young people really need to know how to stay safe in the sun.
“I want to encourage teenagers to realise that whether you’re in the UK or abroad, it’s vital to cover up and use a sun cream with an SPF of 30 or above.” The images of Leona taken by Mary will be used to spread the sun safety message all summer long on leaflets, on-line and in Superdrug stores across the country. Leona has also designed a head scarf to be sold exclusively on Superdrug.com to raise money for Teenage Cancer Trust. |

At work we’ve all said that someone with darker skin looks alot healthier than a pale person. We believe that a paler person should represent something to do with skin cancer and sun bathing!
Thanks Sharon

Hi
I don’t see how your point is valid as people with darker skin can still suffer from skin cancer! The point of the campaign is to encourage everyone to cover up in the sun, regardless of their skin colour.

Oh good lord, the main point is if it’s hot as hell outside and sunny, cover up! Doesn’t matter if your dark as night or light as white-out were block to keep from both skin cancer and buring. I hate when people take somthing so small and turn it into a freakin debate. It’s lotion it’s help put it on an shut-up jeez……calm your nerves!! DAMN!!!, anyway LOVE YA LEONA!!!

actauly no I was not turning it into a debate,I was stating mt opion because no where in there did it say anything about dark skinned or lighter skin people it was letting you know one Leona is in a campaign and sponsership for sun lotion, two that you should were it,and three just for people to be noisey and see what our faavorite girl is up to, like every averge human bein. But my point is there’s a picture on every page telling us stuff about Leona and some people choose to look aside to what the point id and take whats in it and start having a meaning-less (spelled wrong) converstation that really has nothing to do with whats going on that’s all I’m saying. Not trying to be a complete bia but come on now common sense it hot and bright outside cover up.
