Leona told the official X Factor website that she has some advice for the current X Factor hopefuls.

Leona said: “With regard to nerves I would just say that you’ve got to breathe through it, and try to channel the energy into something positive.

“But the best piece of advice I could give them would be to enjoy it and try to have fun up there.”

Leona won’t name her favourite singer: “I think they are all impressive – that’s a tough question!

“I love Cheryl’s category, I think the girls are really strong, and also I like the boy group JLS, they’re a cool band.”

Leona admits that winning the X Factor changed her life: “The main things would probably be travelling a lot, and having people recognise me in the street, that’s something I’m still getting adjusted to!”
