Leona was shocked when she heard she’d reached number one in America.

Speaking from sunny Los Angeles, Leona told GMTV: “It’s unbelievable, I’m just so excited and happy – it’s unbelievable.”

Leona revealed how she found out she was #1: “I was sleeping and someone texted me. I then phoned my whole family and they were all going crazy so it was really sweet. My mum was crying – it was so cute.”

Leona still finds fame strange and admits that people are recognising her more now: “Some people are, yes – it’s getting more and more. It is extraordinary – and I do have those pinch-yourself moments sometimes!

“For me this is so amazing, I’m really proud and it’s such an achievement, so I’m really thankful and feel really lucky.”
