Leona laughed when told yesterday she had made Britain’s Richest Young Millionaires list.
Lewis joked she would be asking for a financial update when she finally returns home to England in several weeks from the international promotional tour.
“That’s so funny; I think that’s probably over-exaggerated. It’s funny how people assume things,” she said in Sydney yesterday.
The former waitress and receptionist created chart history by being the first British The X Factor winner to go to No.1 in Australia and the US with both her hit single Bleeding Love and album.
Her career has been carefully controlled by X Factor judge and music industry powerbroker Simon Cowell, who took a year to build the painfully-shy talent quest winner into a pop star.
Her greatest extravagance to date has been a Mini Cooper.
The green-eyed pop phenomenon doesn’t drink, is a vegan and on her album dedication thanks her parents for instilling “good morals”.
“It’s just about being thankful for the opportunities you are given and this is an amazing opportunity.
“I think you very quickly learn to decipher between what’s real and what’s not and that’s what you need in this industry. It’s called the music business for a reason.”
The highlight of her Sydney visit will be an A-list showcase at the Museum Of Contemporary Art tomorrow night.

Hi folks, – came across your current website by chance while drifting across the internet this afternoon, and pleased that I did! I do like the page layout and colors, but I should say that I’m having difficulty when it loads. I’m using Netscape 8 web browser for mac, and the top panel wouldn’t lineup the right way. i’m confident I’ve made use of an equivalent layout on a company’s site, but the menu seems alright on mine. I think the fault is with my browser and I reckon that it’s about time to switch!
