Ryan Tedder, 28 - the man behind Leona’s hit - is also the frontman of OneRepublic, whose song Apologize, with Timbaland, is No 4 in the charts, reports the Daily Star. He said: “I met up with Simon at the weekend. He told me the one song he was nervous about was Apologize. He said that if Leona loses No 1 to anyone, it’ll be to us and that he’s watching the situation carefully.” The singer added: “It’s quite weird being in competition with yourself in the charts. But I still hope that if anyone knocks her off, it’s us!” Ryan, who’s known for more rocky tunes with OneRepublic, said he had to write for Leona when he first heard her sing.
“A friend sent me a link of Leona singing on the show. I didn’t know anything about X Factor but, when I heard her voice, I knew I had to write for her. “There are so many bad voices out there that when you hear a good one, it makes you stop.” Source: Virgin Media.com |
Simon Cowell is apparently worried that his prodigy Leona Lewis will be knocked off the No 1 spot this week by the same man who penned her tune Bleeding Love.
