Despite a whopping six nominations over the past three occasions, Leona Lewis has always left the ceremony empty-handed.
She has been given just one nod this time round for Best Female but Leona does not hold out much hope of winning the gong.
“If I had to put money down, mine would be on Lily Allen,” she says.
“It’s nice to be nominated but I’ve never won one and it’s by no means the be all and end all. I don’t need that kind of approval.”
And while reality TV stars sell millions of records, their achievements are often over-looked when it comes to awards ceremonies.
Leona thinks it’s a matter of perception. She explains: “Because you’ve done a television show people think that you’re not cool.
“It’s really weird. People who vote for these things tend to vote against Simon Cowell and I’m not sure why.
“But people who go on these shows get up every single week and perform live and for me, that’s the main thing.”
