Leona has rejected a £1m offer from Harrods boss Mohammed Fayed to open this year’s summer sale because the department store sells fur. A staunch vegetarian since the age of 12, Leona stuck to her principles and turned the lucrative offer down. Lewis, who was this year voted animal rights campaign Peta’s World’s Sexiest Vegetarian Celebrity, said: ‘I’m totally against animal cruelty. I don’t have clothes, shoes or bags made from any animal products.’
Harrods, which declined to comment, is the only department store in the UK that continues to sell fur, and is regularly targeted by animal cruelty campaigners. Source: Daily Mail |

it is really good to hear that someone is strong as this, especially if that person is surrounded with too much attractivness, but chooses to stick to principles. Awsome Leona we all love you. You are original and deserves respect. I suppose it was very easy for you to do so coz u have showed how much you are well mannered in the x factor. and how much you are secured and are not money oriantated. you are happy coz you are what you want to be from the inside. Go ahead your music is WOW as well.

Leona, others should follow your lead, principles before money, am delighted that you turned down Harrods,i am hoping your brave stance will encourage others to either attend one of the weekly Harrods demos, and think about what a speciest world we live in. way to go!
