 A Leona Lewis album preview is a big deal. Before she turned up on stage, she was bestowed with big-ups from two of the most powerful names in music. Sony BMG megaboss and one-time Kelly Clarkson mentor Clive Davis labelled her “the best contestant ever” to come from a reality talent show, while Simon Cowell called her a “superstar”. No pressure then. Fortunately, the 22-year-old seemed up to the challenge. Dressed in a white Grecian robe, she started with a co-penned tune called Whatever It Takes.
Her voice was as clear as a bell as it soared Whitney-style over a backdrop of rumbling beats. Homeless, a moody piano-heavy trembler was next up and Leona treated the audience to a flurry of Carey-style vocal gymnastics. Perhaps a little too American to truly capture the crowd, that one. An impassioned cover of Roberta Flack’s The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face provided a truly spine-tingling moment before Leona wrapped up the showcase with her single, Bleeding Love. I don’t know what’s the game why it took Leona a year to release the single after the first one “a moment like this” She was lost for nearly a year then re surfaced in September this year during a recorded interview by Terry (Simon’s girlfriend) during an LA photoshoot which was shown on ITV channel. What’s really going on?

Leona you have the best voice in the world! (To me) When I was 5 I was always saying to my mum: “When is someone local gonna become famous.” My mum said it will happen some day. And that day has come and I am so happy you won the x-factor. And simon cowell is amazing too! One day I want to become just like you! xxx
