Leona has topped the American charts - but her former boss would have her back as his PA. Leona, 23, whose debut album sold 200,000 copies last week, worked at Metropolitan Mortgages in Median Road, Lower Clapton, until she found fame on X Factor in 2006. Former boss Michael Marks said: “I’d take her back tomorrow, but I couldn’t afford her. I think she’s a bit out of my league now.”
But even though Leona has hit the big time, Mr Marks insists she is still down-to-earth and keeps in regular touch. “Leona’s a lovely girl,” he said. “She still keeps in touch and sends me a text now and again, but it’s hard with her being in America.” Source: Hackney Gazette |
