Leona Lewis has revealed that she would never pose nude because she isn’t confident enough.
Leona - who is a fiercely proud vegetarian and refuses to wear leather or fur - is too shy to follow in the footsteps of actress Alicia Silverstone and shed her clothes for PETA.
She told BANG Showbiz: “I’m not that confident! I think it’s a strong statement, and I really respect it because it’s for a great cause. I would love to do something for great causes like that, but I just don’t think I could pose nude, because I’m not that brave.”
The 22-year-old also revealed she had a near-mortifying experience on stage recently.
She said: “I thought there would be a few embarrassing moments when I went on stage in a dress that was slightly see-through, but luckily it was fine. It was a beautiful dress though!”
Leona is set to release Bleeding Love, the first single off her debut album, on 22nd October (21st Oct to download) — which is also the day that Take That release their new single. Leona admitted she is nervous about singing on the show again, telling the Metro: “It’s going to be really weird, but I’m really excited because it’s back where it all began.”
But she admitted it is a relief that the judges would not have to give their verdict on her singing, adding: “I’m glad I’m not getting judged.”
Leona Lewis has revealed that when traveling to America, she and her boyfriend get hassled by U.S. authorities. Leona’s long-time boyfriend, Lou Al-Chama - whom she’s known since she was just ten years old, gets quarantined because his surname arouses suspicion. The couple frequently travel to America despite the trouble with American immigration officials. Lewis says, “They don’t like his surname, so he gets quarantined. “I don’t mean he’s naked, sprayed down and prodded. They just put him in a room and ask him loads of questions for three hours.”

Leona Lewis has revealed that she is planning to buy a home in Santa Monica, CA.
The 22-year-old singer struggled to cope with being away from the UK when she recorded her debut album in Los Angeles.
However, Leona’s attitude has now changed and she is looking forward to promoting the record in the States next year.
“We are promoting the album in the UK, then in America. So I want to buy a place in Santa Monica,” Lewis told the Sunday Mirror. “I love being by the beach and the Pacific Ocean.
“When I first moved out there I was really missing my family and my boyfriend. But my dream now would be to live in California in the winter and here in the summer. I’m going to buy a house there first. And maybe one in London later.”
Before she turned up on stage, she was bestowed with big-ups from two of the most powerful names in music. Sony BMG megaboss and one-time Kelly Clarkson mentor Clive Davis labelled her “the best contestant ever” to come from a reality talent show, while Simon Cowell called her a “superstar”.
No pressure then. Fortunately, the 22-year-old seemed up to the challenge. Dressed in a white Grecian robe, she started with a co-penned tune called Whatever It Takes.
