Snow Patrol singer Gary Lightbody has praised Leona after she covered the band’s hit single ‘Run’.

Despite bandmate Nathan Connolly recently saying he hadn’t heard the song, Lightbody says of Lewis’ version: “She obviously studied the song and thought long and hard about how to interpret it.”

“She’s stripped it to its bare core,” Lightbody continues to the Daily Record. “I think she sounds absolutely phenomenal. I’m not a big fan of shows like The X-Factor, but when talent like this comes along, I can’t slate it.”

Leona Lewis has said that tracks on her second album will have a “rocky edge”.

Leona revealed that she was working with “a few bands” on the next LP, which may make her music go in “a different direction”.

“I have a few tracks on this album which have a bit more of a rocky edge, so it’s kind of going in that way a little bit more,” she told the Daily Star.

Leona has refused to ever appear on a dance show because she has two left feet. She insists she would never do another reality TV show – because it would be a disaster.

She says, “No, I don’t think I would be very good at any of the dancing shows. I think I can dance a bit but not half as well as the people on there.

“It would be a recipe for disaster.”

Leona has landed her long-term boyfriend a job as a talent scout at a subsidiary of her record label Sony BMG.

Leona’s beau Lou Al-Chamaa has reportedly ditched his job as an electrician to pursue a career in RCA Label Group’s Artists and Repertoire department.

A source tells British newspaper The Sun, “Lou is making an impression at the label. He just gets on with it. He’s a lovely, hard-working guy.”

Leona says not much has changed in the two years since winning The X Factor, when it comes to her down to earth lifestyle.

Leona says her friends and family don’t treat her any differently, despite her success.

‘It’s what keeps me grounded,’ she says. ‘I make sure I have plenty of time chilling out, doing normal things. You know, having lie-ins, catching up on EastEnders.’
