Leona, Ray and the three X Factor judges have been interviewed just days before the final, here is what they said.

Do you ever worry it might be a case of here today, gone tomorrow, regardless of whether you win or not?

Ray: “I haven’t really got there yet, I haven’t thought about it yet. I just want to keep doing what I love to do and keep striving to where I want to be.”

Leona: “I’ve always sung, so I’m going to keep on singing and keep doing my best, so I will be around.”

There’s no guarantee is there, Simon?

Simon: “Let’s be clear, this is a tough lark in any case. I’ll take two artists [as example], Emma Bunton and Matt who won I’m A Celebrity. They haven’t even made the top sixty with their new records. Shayne is currently up to 2.5 million records. Without winning the X Factor he wouldn’t have sold one record. Journey South a million, G4 a million and a half. It’s the best showcase for new talent I can think of at the moment. And you’ve seen in America, Kelly Clarkson; here, Will Young… there’s no guarantee. So I would say that the future for both of these two right now is rosy.”

To all three mentors, who would you pick to win?

Sharon: “It’s not up to me to pick, it’s up to the public, and all we do is bring them the best of our categories. It’s totally up to the public. I don’t think we’d even want to go there. They both have an unbelievable future ahead of them.”

Simon: “We don’t have to involve the public on shows like this, we could as judges decide on who we wanted through week after week. If we open it up to the public, we have to respect the public’s decision. I think this is what we call the punter’s final with these two. These are the two the public wanted, it is as close as any competition I’ve ever been involved with in my life. I think there’s something like a thousand votes separating the two from last week’s, so I can’t call it. We will support whoever wins. They’ve all got strong songs, so it’s going to be a rumble.”

Louis: “I’m not picking anybody, because like Sharon said, it’s up to the public, but both of them are really good.”

Can you give us your tips for them both on Saturday?

Louis: “They know what they have to do already.”

Simon: “Go in there with a desire to win. The public have to decide. There are going to be five or six million new voters on Saturday night who haven’t voted in previous shows and they’re going to go for the top performance on the night. They’re both fully armed with the best songs.”

Louis: “It’s going to be very, very close.”

X Factor star Louis Walsh has claimed that he would not give a recording contract to either of the show’s finalists.

The judge, who lost his final act last weekend, has explained that Leona Lewis’s shy nature could hold her back if she wins the competition, while Ray has a better chance of a career in the West End.

“Leona hasn’t got a great personality,” Walsh told the News of the World. “She’s very, very shy and very normal. Female stars have to have that X factor, otherwise it can hold them back.”

On Ray, Louis added: “He has the likeability factor, the mums are voting for him, but I don’t think he’ll actually sell records. He’ll always work, but I think he’s more likely to be in musicals.

“Sharon has said before he reminds her of a panto boy and I have to say I can see it too.”

Leona Lewis is favourite to win next week’s X Factor final, after Ben Mills was voted off on Saturday.

The London receptionist, 21, will go head to head with student Ray Quinn to win the coveted ITV talent contest.

“It’s unbelievable,” said Lewis, who is currently favourite to become the show’s first female winner with odds of 1-6. Quinn, 18, has odds of 7-2 to win.

“The only person we can compare Leona to is Kelly Clarkson, a true star,” said William Hill’s Rupert Adams.

“Leona is by far the best X Factor contestant in three years of the show and we wouldn’t dream of taking bets on her achieving at least five number ones in 2007.”

Student Quinn said he was “stunned” on learning of his place in the final. “Thank you so much to anybody out there who supported me, it’s such an honour.”

The winner of X Factor is currently 2-9 odds-on favourite for the Christmas number one single slot, following in the footsteps of 2005’s Shayne Ward.

Both singers are mentored by pop mogul Simon Cowell.

X FACTOR favourite Leona Lewis will tonight give the most emotional performance of her life … singing a song she sang at her cousin’s funeral.

Leona, 21, was devastated when her cousin — who Leona does not want to name — lost her long battle with leukemia.

She sang Eva Cassidy’s version of Somewhere Over the Rainbow at the funeral service.

And she will repeat her performance in the semi-final as she attempts to make it to next Saturday’s final.

A source close to Leona said: “Leona and her cousin were as close as sisters. Her cousin was only in her early teens when she died after battling cancer. It has taken Leona a long time to come to terms with it, so it will definitely be an emotional night.”

Leona will also perform Whitney Houston’s hit I Have Nothing.

Leona Lewis has admitted that her career is her top priority, and won’t marry until she has established herself in the music world.

The 21-year-old from Hackney has been dating Lou Al-Chama for four years and said, “We want to see how our careers develop before we think about getting married. I won’t marry until my career is established.”

“He’s been really supportive and knows how much I want this.” “I speak to Lou every day. It’s thanks to him that I’m in the X Factor,” she smiled.

“This was always my dream but I kept missing the auditions for the show. Then, one day, Lou applied for a bit of fun, and made me apply too.” (more…)

X-Factor contestant Ben Mills has spoken out and says he thinks Leona will win the show.

Ben, who is expected to fight Leona in the final of X-Factor admits he isn’t as talented as Leona.

He said: “I don’t think the show’s been fixed in favour of Leona but I think she will probably win.” “Since being in the bottom two I haven’t been able to sleep.”

“I think people are a bit fed up of seeing me with a piano, and I got really attached to having it on stage with me.

“Before I almost went out, I would have said I had a good chance of winning, but this contest isn’t just about singing, it’s also about everything surrounding you, and how you come across.”

“I’m not an actor, and I won’t be something I’m not.”

I hope he is right, Leona deserves to win!

Louis Walsh has said that he will be supporting Sharon Osbourne and her act, Ben to win X-Factor after being upset by Simon insulting his act.

Louis said on “The Xtra Factor”, “I’m going to support Sharon 100 per cent and hope she gets the Scottish vote”, “Scotland doesn’t like you, Simon,”

Simon Cowell has two acts left Leona Lewis and Ray Quin.

I think it’s pathetic how childish this is! Vote for who has the most talent, not against people after a grudge. Time to vote hard, as Leona might have a lot of Scottish votes against her.
