Us Leona fans aren’t the only ones who are incredibly shocked that she didn’t win a single award at the Brits.
Personally I can’t believe that Kate Nash and The Arctic Monkeys won instead of Leona. Take That have a large fan base and they had a huge hit with Shine, plus they are mature adults who really appreciated the awards they won, so it’s not so bad that they won, but The Arctic bloody Monkeys?? They are a bunch of drunken little chavs who could barely understand what was going on. They sure as hell didn’t appreciate winning! And Kate Nash? She was appreciative, but is nothing compared to Leona. Kate talks in her songs, Leona belts her heart out! 2007 was the year of Leona — she had the number one album and number one single for weeks and weeks. The fact that the Brit Academy completely and utterly snubbed her is appalling and unfair.
This is a Leona fan site, and of course being a huge fan I’m disappointed that she didn’t win, but other people, who might not be fans, should be able to see the huge talent Leona has. She is the best thing out of Britain for many, many years. She is the only one, out of the lot at the Brits, who is going to have a massive career in The States, because she is that good. She should have won…. |

Leona should have won at least one award but in ways she didnt deserve it as shes only been around with her new music for a few months - not a year!
Also, she was up for Best Breakthrough Act! She didnt breakthrough this year - she was up for a Brit last year so winning that one would be a sham!
She will have many more chances and she should just be honoured that she got to perform and also be nomonated for so many! Shes had so many highs, she has to have lows as well.
I think sometimes people have too high an expectation of Leona, i love her but a lot of people think shes better than she actually is which is hurtful to other artists. Leona was considered and the public chose a lot of awards. People like Shayne Ward werent considered and they dont moan so Leona shouldnt and Im sure she wont as it aint in her nature.
You dont know if shes going to break USA yet anyways so you cant really say that till shes done it.
I agree 100% about Arctic Monkeys, they took it as a joke and totally didnt deserve the awards as they thought they were gods gift showing up dressed as total nutcases.

cannot believe that leona didnt win a britt award!!!! out of everybody that sang live on the night(including kylee) she absoloutly showed them, all up and showed them exactly how its done!!!! what a complete and unter terrible show-that is the last i will b watchin the britts

Shes been around for 2 years Clare! She won the X-Factor in 2006!
It was an absolute disgrace!
It just shows you what the big shots at the academy know about music!
They give awards to a bunch of drunks!
They should not be allowed return next year!

Yeah she has been around for 2 years but out of the last year, how long has she spent actually releasing music? Only a few months. Anyways, 2 years does not make you a breakthrough artist, does it?
Hers and Paul Mccartneys performances were best of night by far, loved the way they did Leonas performance :-) Elegant but diferent!

screw the brits? how can sharon say she sold over 2 million in jus six weeks and didn’t get a bloody award?! WTF?! Leona is the best talent we have had in this country, her music is selling like hot cakes yet the people buying her records cannot support her to give her an award? Screw the brits, i hope she is nominated at the 2009 grammys in similar fashion that Amy Winehouse did in the 2008 grammys. we need an british r&b sensation to represent the uk and Leona is the one who can do that

OMG, I LOVE LEONA and she’s definitely ROBBED BIG TIME@!!! I can’t believe she went home empty handed! She’s like the most talented girl I’ve seen in my life! GOSH! Kate Nash? SHYT! Her vocal and looks is dafinitely nothing as copmpared to Leona’s!!!!!! OMG I CAN”T BELIEVE THIS OMG OMG!
But one thing I’m sure is, LEONA WILL DEFINITLEY DO GREAT in the future, and yes, the best is yet to come! So watch OUT people, LEONA’s GONNA RULE THE MUSIC WORLD AND COME AS A DIVA!!!!!!

I only watched Leona’s performance on The Brits, and as ever Leona, you were outstanding.
I am sorry to say the fact that Leona came away with no award, does not surprise, indicative of the mentality of this industry and climate, and we do seem to have lost the British way entirely now. We produce the best young talent for simply years, and it looks as though more support will probably be found overseas, so one could hardly blame Leona if she ever decided to move out the UK.
Try not to be too downhearted Leona, I am sorry that your own Country did not recognise your incredible achievement, you can answer as you have been, consistence, quality, and what we all know will be so, longevity.

Ich kann nicht verstehen, warum Leona Lewis nicht den Brit Award bekommen hat!!!! Hat der Musikgeschmack der Leute sich so ins Negative verändert? Der Entscheid ist nicht ganz sauber. Es können eben nicht alle ein Bohlen sein. Wenn ich könnte würde ich die Jury verklagen. Ich bedaure sehr, dass man die Genialität dieser Frau in eigenen Land nicht zu würdigen weiss. Im Vergleich zum Echo war der Brit Award selber das reinste Kasperletheater mit kindischer Kulisse. Leona mach weiter so!! Deine Fans stehen zu Dir!

Leona shouldn’t be so upset. She was lucky enough to be nominated for four awards, and this is only her first year in the business, why should she beat out people who have been going for years? But still, she’s an amazing singer, astounding, and i think she should’ve won at least one =[

Just because she didnt win a BRIT, it doesnt mean the brits hate her…for god sake she had the biggest selling album and single of 2007! If she ever moved out of UK, then shes ungrateful and spoilt as who made her…the british who voted for her to win The X Factor. Yeah, she didnt win a BRIT, yeah she should have but deal with it - sometimes things dont go peoples ways. Leonas had an incredible year and doesnt need a BRIT to show that. She has lots more time to win BRITs but just cos she didnt win, doesnt mean she should move away and desert us, the people who made her who she is!!

wel wot a fix if ever ive sin 1! i cant believe leona didnt win 1 brit, the bigest selling album and single of the year plus a women with the BEST voice in the industry full stop! i just cant believe it i really cant, but never mind because i sit in my chair on my computer writing this message feeling safe in the knowledge that leona lewis will be an absolute huge star across the globe! so keep it up leona, your the BEST!!! I was gobsmacked she didnt win any! Kate nash best female??!! What are people thinking. She does talk doesnt she. Leona can sing LIVE unlike Kate Nash - a load of rubbish. All i can say is shes a winner in my eyes and hopefully next year she wil top the brits!!

To be honest i think it was good that kate nash won the award. The type of music leona sings is very ordinary and very 90s pop. Basically music that no one takes much interest in anymore, yeh she got good record sales first time round because everyone always wants to see what the xfactor winners first record/album is like. Kate nash is a real musician, writes her own music, plays her own music and adds character. Leona is just another mariah carey/ whitney knock off that people will forget in time.
