Leona Lewis has set a new record for first week sales in 2007. She managed to shift 218,805 copies of single Bleeding Love placing her straight at No 1. The X Factor winner beat Take That’s Rule The World by an extra 120,973 copies. Manager Simon Cowell thinks Take That deserve the trouncing for going up against Leona in the first place. He told the Daily Mirror: “Take That were used to spoil the Leona party but it backfired and I feel really disappointed for them.
“We announced Leona’s release date first and their camp must have thought they could beat her. I imagine the band will be having words with their label this week.” |

Simon Cowell must have a huge stash of Bleeding Love somewhere. Outsold Take That and McFly together - I don’t think so - dream on.
